What cookAIfood is
cookAIfood is an independent project, operated from Spain, that uses artificial intelligence to create recipes, menus and food photos. You can browse the gallery of recipes other people created, or make your own from a dish name, a list of ingredients, a cuisine, or a photo of your fridge. Every recipe comes with a photo, a step-by-step method and, where it applies, tips, ingredient swaps, storage advice, an estimated nutrition breakdown and a drink pairing.
Everything here is AI-generated
The recipes and the photos are written and painted by AI models, not by a chef or a food photographer. Nobody cooks each dish in a kitchen before it is published, and we do not say they do. A recipe is a well-formed starting point, and the photo is an illustration of what the dish could look like. Read more on How we use AI.
How a recipe is made
- You ask. You type a dish or idea, pick ingredients, a cuisine or a diet, upload a photo, or let the AI surprise you.
- The recipe is written. A large language model writes the title, description, ingredient list, steps, cooking time, difficulty and a calorie estimate. We tell the model to stay in a cooking context and to reply in the language you chose.
- The extra information is added. Tips, substitutions, storage, frequently asked questions, nutrition and drink pairing are generated with fixed rules: they must add something that is not already in the steps, base everything on the recipe, give no medical or health advice, and never state oven or internal temperatures, because wrong food-safety numbers are worse than none.
- The answer is checked by the program. The text must have the expected structure, nutrition values must add up to roughly the stated calories, and any text that contains medical claims or temperature numbers is rejected and not shown.
- The photo is painted. An image model creates a food photo from the recipe. Photos are illustrations and carry an "AI-generated image" label on the recipe page.
- It is published to the gallery if you use the free plan, or kept private if you have a paid plan.
Editorial policy
- No medical or dietary advice. cookAIfood is for cooking inspiration. A recipe is never a treatment, and nothing on the site replaces a doctor or a dietitian. Words such as "healthy", "low-carb" or "gluten-free" are descriptions of the recipe, not guarantees.
- Allergens and food safety are your responsibility to check. Always read the labels of what you buy, and follow the usual food-safety rules for your kitchen.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates. Nutrition values and cooking times can be off.
- Drink pairings are suggestions for adults of legal drinking age and always include an alcohol-free option.
- No fake reviews or ratings. We show no star ratings or testimonials that were not given by real users.
- The models change. We switch to better models over time, so newer recipes may read differently from older ones.
