Cauliflower Croque Monsieur Bites

A unique twist on the classic Croque Monsieur using cauliflower for a healthier version of this French favorite.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Steam or boil cauliflower until tender, then mash or blend until smooth. 3. In a saucepan, melt butter, add milk, and stir in mashed cauliflower. Season with salt and pepper. 4. Place a slice of ham on each bread slice, top with cauliflower mixture and Gruyere cheese. 5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. 6. Cut into bite-sized pieces and serve warm.

1 cup cauliflower florets, 2 slices of bread, 2 slices of ham, 1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheese, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tbsp butter, salt and pepper to taste
