Classic Homemade Donuts

Steps

1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 2. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined. 3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. 4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut out donuts using a donut cutter or two round cutters. 5. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry donuts for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. 6. Remove donuts from oil and let them drain on paper towels. 7. For glazing, mix powdered sugar with a little water to create a glaze. Dip each donut in the glaze while still warm. 8. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
