Steps
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a small 15cm round cake pan.
2. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
3. Mix in melted butter and milk.
4. Combine flour and baking powder, sift into the wet ingredients, fold gently.
5. Pour batter into cake pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let cake cool completely, then slice horizontally to create two layers.
7. Wash and dry strawberries; slice half for cake layers and leave some whole for decoration.
8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
9. Add a few drops of red food coloring to part of the whipped cream for a pink hue.
10. Spread plain whipped cream on the bottom layer, arrange sliced strawberries, then cover with the second layer.
11. Frost the entire cake with the pink-tinted whipped cream.
12. Decorate top with whole strawberries and apply edible gold leaf for luxury detail.
13. Use chocolate writing pen or melted dark chocolate to write 'Happy Mother's Day' elegantly on the cake surface.
14. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
