Steps
1. Heat olive oil in a small pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
4. Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and blend the soup until smooth.
6. Return to pot, stir in heavy cream and chopped basil leaves.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Heat through gently, then serve warm.
