Steps

1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it activate for 10 minutes. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly. 3. Add beaten egg and activated yeast mixture, knead until smooth dough forms. 4. Cover dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour. 5. Divide dough into small portions for different pastries. 6. For medialunas, roll dough into crescent shapes. 7. For vigilantes, roll dough into small rectangular strips. 8. For cañoncitos, roll dough thinly, spread filling (dulce de leche or quince paste), and roll into tubes. 9. Place pastries on baking tray lined with parchment paper. 10. Let them rise for another 30 minutes. 11. Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake pastries for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. 12. Let cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
