Baklava with Honey and Pistachios

Layers of flaky phyllo dough filled with spiced pistachio nuts, baked to a golden crisp and drizzled with a fragrant honey syrup for a rich, decadent treat.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). 2. Mix chopped pistachios, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. 3. Brush a small baking dish with melted butter. 4. Layer one sheet of phyllo dough, brush with butter, repeat for 2 more sheets. 5. Evenly spread half the nut mixture over phyllo layers. 6. Add 3 more phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter. 7. Spread remaining nut mixture, then top with 3 more butter-brushed phyllo sheets. 8. Using a sharp knife, cut baklava into small diamond shapes. 9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and crisp. 10. While baking, warm honey and lemon juice in a small saucepan. 11. Remove baklava from oven and immediately drizzle warm honey syrup over it. 12. Allow to cool completely before serving to let syrup soak in.
