
Steps
- Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes.
- In a pot, heat a small amount of oil and add the pork belly, browning it on all sides.
- Add the ginger, scallion, and star anise, stirring for 1 minute.
- Pour in the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sugar, mixing well.
- Add water until the pork is just covered, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the lid and continue to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust salt to taste.
- Serve hot with rice and enjoy!
