- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle on a sheet of parchment paper, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough and spread it evenly, leaving a small border.
- Carefully roll the dough into a tight log using the parchment paper to help.
- Chill the log in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the chilled log into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
