Steps
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
4. Stir in milk until a soft dough forms.
5. Turn out dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
6. Pat dough into a circle and cut into wedges.
7. Place scones on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg.
8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
9. Serve warm with jam and clotted cream.
