Steps

1. Prepare fried onions: Dust the thin onion slices in flour, shaking off excess. 2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the floured onions until golden and crispy; drain on paper towels. 3. Mix mayonnaise with Genovese onion sauce or finely minced slow-cooked onions to create Genovese mayo. 4. Warm the shredded Genovese-style beef. 5. Toast the bread slices lightly. 6. Spread a generous layer of Genovese mayonnaise on one slice of bread. 7. Layer the warm shredded beef over the mayo. 8. Add slices of provolone dolce cheese on top of the beef. 9. Finish with the crispy fried onions and top with the second bread slice. 10. Press gently, slice in half, and serve immediately.
