Halal Sudanese Bricks (Sambusas)

A delicious, savory Sudanese-inspired halal brick pastry filled with spiced ground beef and aromatic herbs, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Steps

1. In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the onion until translucent. 2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. 3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. 4. Stir in cumin, coriander, chili powder, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 more minutes. 5. Remove from heat and mix in chopped parsley. 6. Cut the pastry sheet into strips about 3 inches wide. 7. Place a spoonful of the filling at one end of a strip and fold into a triangle shape, continuing to fold until the strip is used. 8. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. 9. Fry the bricks until golden and crispy on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. 10. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
