Homemade Garlic Infused Olive Oil

Steps

1. Pour 1 cup of olive oil into a small saucepan. 2. Add the smashed garlic cloves to the oil. 3. Heat the oil and garlic over low heat for 20 minutes, ensuring the oil does not boil or smoke. 4. Remove from heat and let the oil cool completely with the garlic still in it to deepen the flavor. 5. Strain the oil through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle or jar. 6. Optionally, add a pinch of salt to taste. 7. Store in a cool, dark place and use within 2 weeks.
