Steps
1. In a small saucepan, bring the water or almond milk to a boil.
2. Stir in the rolled oats and a pinch of salt. Reduce the heat to low.
3. Add the diced apple and cinnamon, stirring well.
4. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the oats are creamy and the apples are tender.
5. Remove from heat, and stir in honey or maple syrup if desired.
6. Serve hot, topped with chopped nuts for added crunch.
