Steps
1. Take the beef steak out of the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
2. Season both sides of the steak with salt and black pepper.
3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Once hot, add the steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
5. In the last minute of cooking, add butter, minced garlic, and thyme to the pan, spooning the melted butter over the steak.
6. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
7. Serve with the garlic butter drizzled on top.
