Steps

1. Grate the cheese and set aside. 2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. 3. Melt half the butter and add it to the dry ingredients. 4. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring until you get a smooth batter. 5. Fold in the grated cheese. 6. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a little butter. 7. Pour a ladle of batter into the pan and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. 8. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown. 9. Repeat with remaining batter, adding more butter as needed. 10. Serve warm with extra butter or syrup if desired.
