Steps
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest.
4. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the garlic butter. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired creaminess is achieved.
5. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and extra parmesan if desired.
