Creamy Buttered Potato and Onion Sauté

A comforting and simple sauté of tender potatoes and caramelized onions cooked in rich butter. Perfect as a hearty side or a light main dish.

Steps

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. 2. Add the sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they become golden and caramelized, about 10 minutes. 3. Push the onions to the side of the pan and add the remaining butter. 4. Add the thinly sliced potatoes in a single layer, season with salt and pepper. 5. Cook the potatoes undisturbed for 5 minutes to get a golden crust, then turn and cook for another 5-7 minutes until tender and golden. 6. Stir the potatoes and onions together, cook for another 2 minutes to blend flavors. 7. Adjust seasoning as needed and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. 8. Serve warm.
