Steps
1. Spread cream cheese evenly on one side of each bread slice.
2. On one slice, layer the dill pickle slices evenly over the cream cheese.
3. Spread Dijon mustard on the other slice over the cream cheese.
4. Sprinkle a pinch of black pepper over the pickles.
5. Close the sandwich with the mustard-spread slice on top.
6. Optional: heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly butter the outside of the sandwich.
7. Toast the sandwich in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
8. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately.
