Steps

1. In a bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. 3. Stir in orange blossom water or lemon zest. 4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until a soft dough forms. 6. Shape the dough into small boat-shaped loaves (navettes). 7. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for at least 12 hours (up to 2 days) to allow flavors to develop. 8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). 9. Place the navettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. 11. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
