Spiced Soya Chunk Rice Pilaf

A hearty and flavorful one-pot meal combining protein-rich soya chunks with aromatic rice, infused with garlic, onion, and tomato for a nutritious and satisfying dish.

Steps

1. Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water. 2. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. 3. Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until golden brown. 4. Add chopped tomato and cook until soft. 5. Stir in turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. 6. Add the soya chunks and mix well to coat with spices. 7. Add rice and stir gently to combine. 8. Pour in water and bring to a boil. 9. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed. 10. Turn off heat and let it rest covered for 5 minutes before serving.
