Steps
1. Peel and dice the onion, potatoes, and tomatoes.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
3. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
4. Add the diced onions and sauté until golden brown.
5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
6. Add the diced potatoes and tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes.
7. Add a little water, cover the pan, and simmer until the potatoes are cooked through.
8. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
9. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
10. Serve hot with rice or roti.
