Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Tart

A golden, flaky tart filled with sweet, caramelized onions and tangy goat cheese. Perfect as a satisfying vegetarian main dish with layers of deep flavor.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). 2. Heat olive oil in a nonstick pan over medium-low heat. Add onions and a pinch of salt, then cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes until deeply golden and caramelized. 3. Roll out puff pastry on a lined baking sheet. Score a 1cm border around the edge without cutting through. 4. Spread caramelized onions evenly within the border. Dot crumbled goat cheese on top and sprinkle with thyme, pepper, and a little extra salt if desired. 5. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until pastry is puffed and golden. 6. Let cool slightly, cut, and serve warm.
