Steps

1. In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the cream is hot but not boiling. 2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. 3. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over the cold water and let it stand for 5 minutes to soften. 4. Gently heat the gelatin mixture until melted, then stir it into the warm cream mixture. 5. Pour the mixture into a small serving dish or mold and let it cool to room temperature. 6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set. Serve chilled.
