Creamy Sweet Potato and Lentil Mash

A nutritious and smooth mash perfect for a 12-month-old baby, packed with iron and fiber from lentils and vitamins from sweet potatoes. This recipe is free from salt, sugar, and allergens, designed for easy digestion and ideal texture.

Steps

1. Rinse the red lentils thoroughly under cold water. 2. Peel and dice the sweet potato into small pieces. 3. In a small pot, combine sweet potato pieces, rinsed lentils, and water. 4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer gently for 20 minutes or until both lentils and sweet potato are very soft. 5. Drain any excess water, reserving a little to adjust texture. 6. Mash the mixture thoroughly with a fork or blend to a smooth consistency suitable for your baby's eating stage. 7. Stir in olive oil for added healthy fats, if using. 8. Allow to cool to a warm, safe temperature before serving.
