Steps

1. Rinse clams thoroughly under cold water to remove any sand. 2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. 3. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. 4. Pour in white wine and bring to a simmer. 5. Add clams to the pan, cover with a lid, and steam for 5-7 minutes until all clams have opened. 6. Discard any clams that remain closed. 7. Season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top. 8. Squeeze lemon juice over clams if desired. 9. Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
