Red Wine Braised Chicken Thigh

A succulent chicken thigh slowly braised in rich red wine, enhanced with garlic, herbs, and caramelized onions for a deep, flavorful main dish.

Steps

1. Season the chicken thigh with salt and pepper. 2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. 3. Brown the chicken thigh skin side down until golden, about 5 minutes; flip and brown the other side for 3 minutes. 4. Remove chicken and set aside. 5. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and garlic; sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes. 6. Pour in the red wine and add the thyme sprig; bring to a simmer. 7. Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. 8. Braise for 25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and tender. 9. Remove thyme sprig, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
