Steps
1. In a small saucepan, bring water or vegetable broth to a boil.
2. Add the whole grain cereal to the boiling liquid, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 5 minutes until cooked.
3. While the cereal cooks, bring a separate pot of water to a gentle simmer for poaching the egg.
4. Crack the egg into a small bowl and gently slide it into the simmering water. Poach for about 3-4 minutes until the white is set but the yolk is still runny.
5. Once the cereal is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
6. Top the cereal with sliced avocado and the poached egg.
7. Sprinkle chili flakes and fresh herbs on top for added flavor and garnish.
