Steps

1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. 2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. 4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes soften and create a light sauce. 5. Toss the cooked pasta into the pan with the tomato and onion sauce. Mix well to combine and heat through for 1-2 minutes. 6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
