Steps
1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. In a small pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
3. While the rice is cooking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
4. Add the shrimp to the pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
5. Stir in soy sauce and remove from heat.
6. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve in a bowl topped with the spicy garlic shrimp. Garnish with chopped green onions.
