Brazilian Feijoada

A traditional Brazilian black bean stew with assorted meats and flavors. A hearty and savory dish perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Steps

1. In a large pot, soak the black beans overnight. Drain and rinse. 2. In the same pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. 3. Brown the pork shoulder, smoked sausage, and beef jerky in the bacon fat. 4. Add the onion, garlic, and bay leaf. Cook until fragrant. 5. Return the bacon to the pot and add the black beans. Cover with water. 6. Simmer for 2-3 hours until the beans are tender and the meats are cooked through. 7. Season with salt and pepper. 8. Serve the feijoada with rice and orange slices on the side.
