Steps
1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
2. Place the slice of bread in the skillet and toast it for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
3. While the bread is toasting, crack the egg into the pan next to the bread and season with salt and pepper.
4. Cook the egg sunny-side up for about 3-4 minutes, or until the white is set but the yolk is still runny.
5. Place the slice of cheese on top of the egg and cover the skillet for about 1 minute to melt the cheese.
6. Remove the toasted bread and place the cheesy egg on top.
7. Garnish with optional herbs if desired, and serve immediately.
