Steps
1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
2. While the skillet is heating, butter one side of each slice of bread.
3. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
4. Layer the ham and cheese on top of the bread in the skillet.
5. Crack the egg into the skillet next to the sandwich and cook to your desired doneness (sunny-side up, over-easy, etc.).
6. Once the egg is cooked, place the second slice of bread on top of the sandwich, butter side up.
7. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
8. Remove from heat, add ketchup to taste, and serve hot.
