Chicken Musakhan

A traditional Palestinian main dish featuring sumac-spiced chicken served on a bed of caramelized onions and flatbread. This flavorful meal combines tangy, savory, and aromatic notes for an authentic Arab dining experience.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté sliced onions until soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. 3. Add sumac, allspice, cinnamon, and salt to the onions; stir well and cook for another 2 minutes. 4. Rub the chicken thigh with a pinch of salt and a little sumac. 5. Place the flatbread on a baking tray, spread the caramelized onions evenly over it. 6. Place the chicken thigh on top of the onions. 7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and skin is crispy. 8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
