Greek Keftedes (Meatball Appetizers)

Traditional Greek meatballs made with ground beef or lamb, fresh herbs, and a blend of spices. Perfect as an appetizer served with a yogurt-sour cream dip or as a flavorful addition to spaghetti sauce.

Steps

1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, parsley, onion, bread crumbs, white wine, beaten egg, herb blend, and salt. Mix thoroughly. 2. Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs. 3. (Optional) Roll each meatball lightly in flour. 4. Choose a cooking method: - Deep fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry meatballs until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. - Pan fry: Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and cook meatballs until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. - Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place meatballs on a baking pan and bake for 20-30 minutes, turning occasionally. 5. Serve warm with yogurt-sour cream dip or your favorite spaghetti sauce.
