Hawaiian Loco Moco Bowl

A comforting classic from Hawaii featuring a juicy beef patty served over steamed rice, topped with a fried egg and savory brown gravy. It’s a hearty one-bowl meal that brings a taste of the islands to your table.

Steps

1. In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into a patty. 2. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Cook the patty for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove and set aside. 3. In the same pan, add butter. Once melted, stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, whisking until thickened to a gravy. 4. In another pan, fry the egg to your liking (sunny side up is traditional). 5. To assemble: Place steaming rice in a bowl, top with the beef patty, pour over the gravy, and finish with the fried egg. Garnish with green onion if desired.
