Lebanese Honey Baklava

A sweet and sticky Lebanese dessert made with layers of crispy phyllo pastry, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of honey.

Steps

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish. 2. In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon. 3. Place a sheet of phyllo pastry in the baking dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat with 6 more sheets, brushing each layer with butter. 4. Sprinkle a generous amount of the nut mixture evenly over the phyllo layers. 5. Layer the remaining 6 sheets of phyllo pastry on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter. 6. Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes. 7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and crispy. 8. While the baklava is baking, heat the honey and lemon juice in a small saucepan until warmed through. 9. Once the baklava is done, remove from the oven and immediately pour the warm honey mixture over the top. 10. Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving.
