Steps
1. Rinse the lotus seeds and red beans separately and soak them in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
2. Drain the soaked lotus seeds and red beans.
3. In a small heatproof bowl, combine lotus seeds, red beans, and 300ml water.
4. Cover the bowl with foil or a lid suitable for steaming.
5. Place the bowl in a steamer and steam over boiling water for 1 hour or until both lotus seeds and beans are soft.
6. Remove from heat and stir in rock sugar or honey until dissolved.
7. Garnish with a few goji berries if desired and serve warm or chilled.
