Steps
1. Rinse the clams under cold water and discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.
2. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer.
5. Add the clams, cover the pan, and steam for 5-7 minutes until the clams open.
6. Discard any unopened clams.
7. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the clams and season with salt and black pepper.
8. Squeeze lemon juice over the dish before serving.
9. Serve immediately with crusty bread if desired.
