Gout-Friendly Asparagus Chicken Divan

A light and flavorful take on the classic Asparagus Chicken Divan, specially adapted to be gout-friendly by using low-purine ingredients and a creamy yogurt sauce. This dish balances tender chicken and fresh asparagus with a mild, cheesy topping.

Steps

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). 2. Steam or blanch the asparagus until just tender, about 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside. 3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. 4. Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, and thyme, then add to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove and slice into strips. 5. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, cream cheese, and lemon juice until smooth. 6. In a small baking dish, layer the asparagus and chicken slices. 7. Pour the yogurt mixture evenly over the chicken and asparagus. 8. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on top. 9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the top is lightly golden and bubbly. 10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
