Steps

1. Pat the cod fillet dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. 2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. 3. Add the cod fillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. 4. Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside. 5. Lower heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the same skillet. 6. Sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant, then add lemon juice and zest. 7. Stir the sauce for 30 seconds, then pour over the cod. 8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
