Schweinshaxe (Pork Knuckle)

A classic German roast pork dish that's simple to prepare but packs a flavor punch.

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Rub the pork knuckle with salt, pepper, nutmeg and rosemary. 3. In an oven safe dish, add the garlic, onion, carrots and knuckle. 4. Drizzle with olive oil. 5. Add the sage and pour in the water. 6. Cover the dish and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 – 2 hours or until the pork knuckle is cooked through and tender. 7. Uncover for the last 15 minutes for a nice golden crust. 8. Transfer the pork knuckle on to a cutting board and let it rest for a few minutes. 9. Slice and enjoy!
