Spicy Tomato and Onion Rice

A flavorful and spicy rice dish made with a tomato, onions, and green chillies for a kick of heat.

Steps

1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. 2. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter. 3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. 4. Add chopped green chillies and tomato, cook until tomato softens. 5. Mix in turmeric powder and salt. 6. Add the rinsed rice and mix well. 7. Pour water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until rice is cooked. 8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
