Steps

1. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tail intact. 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, water, egg, and salt until smooth. 3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot. 4. Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. 5. Carefully place the shrimp into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, around 2-3 minutes. 6. Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. 7. Serve hot with a side of soy sauce or tempura dipping sauce.
