Classic Almond Macaroons

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the egg white with a pinch of salt until frothy but not stiff.
  3. Gently fold in the almond flour, granulated sugar, and almond extract until well combined.
  4. Scoop small spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Optionally, dust the tops lightly with powdered sugar.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are golden and the macarons feel firm to the touch.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
