Classic Carrot Halwa

A traditional Indian dessert made from grated carrots, simmered in milk and sugar, infused with cardamom, and garnished with nuts. This warm, sweet halwa is rich, creamy, and perfect for a comforting treat.

Steps

1. Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. 2. Add chopped nuts and raisins, sauté until golden, then set aside. 3. In the same pan, add grated carrots and sauté for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened. 4. Pour in the milk and bring to a gentle boil. 5. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, until the milk is almost evaporated and carrots are tender. 6. Add sugar and cardamom powder, mix well and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring often. 7. Add the sautéed nuts and raisins, mix well. 8. Remove from heat and serve warm.
