Steps
1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
2. Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer or a fine mesh strainer over boiling water for about 20 minutes, or until tender.
3. While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, but do not bring it to a boil.
4. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour 1/4 cup of the coconut milk mixture over it. Stir gently to combine and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
5. To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with fresh mango slices, and drizzle with the remaining coconut milk. Garnish with sesame seeds or toasted coconut flakes if desired.
