Steps
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and cook until just fragrant.
3. Add barley and stir to coat with oil.
4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
5. Simmer until barley is tender, about 20 minutes.
6. Add tomato and basil and cook until just heated through.
7. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
8. Serve warm.
