Steps
1. Pat the beef steak dry and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
3. Add the steak to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your preferred doneness.
4. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a plate.
5. Reduce heat to low, add butter and minced garlic to the same skillet.
6. Stir butter and garlic until fragrant and garlic is lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
7. Stir in lemon zest and remove from heat.
8. Spoon the garlic lemon butter over the rested steak.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
